In an incredible late inning rally, the Stump Jumpers made a comeback that will be talked about for years to come. Despite the near flood level waters, torrential downpours, and pride debilitating smack talk, the Stump Jumpers managed to do what no man (well, at least the four other teams) thought possible; catch a few fish in Reelfoot Lake. To say it was a slow weekend would not do it justice. Many a man faltered, some packed up and headed home, but in the end the Stump Jumpers reigned victorious in what some have dubbed “the great depression of Reelfoot fishing”.
Last year’s champions, the Bottom Feeders, were quoted as saying words deemed inappropriate for the internet about this year’s champs, but in the end congratulated them on their victory and begrudgingly handed the vest (yes, singular) over.
Congrats too all who endured this great struggle between man and fish.
